I am an empathic, compassionate, psychodynamically trained psychotherapist with over 25 years of experience helping people do the courageous work necessary to make meaningful, transformative changes in their lives. Therapy, as I practice it, involves a collaborative process, requiring the active engagement of both myself and my client. I have particular success with people who already have some degree of intellectual insight about themselves but who have difficulty translating that knowledge into making emotional and practical changes in their lives -- building bridges from mind to heart and spirit. While one area of my specialized training and expertise is in the field of eating disorders, I work with many people who are preoccupied with body image and related issues that diminish the quality of their lives and interfere with their emotional and practical aspirations. Developing tools to become more proactive in relationships can lead to a less stressful and more satisfying connection with oneself and with others. Each person takes a unique journey that requires a treatment designed to address their specific needs and goals.
